Opium worth Rs 7 lakh seized in Manipur

Manipur, March 12, 2019:

A team of the Assam Rifles and police apprehended one suspected opium smuggler and seized around 6.84 kg of processed opium on Tuesday from Thongjol village in Manipur.

The accused has been identified as Hegin Baite (26).

The team of authorities seized opium of around 6.84 kgs worth Rs 7 lakh, a cash Rs 3500, Yamaha FZ bike, and a cellular device.

The accused has been handed over to police and a case has been registered at Litan Police Station.
