Patient Attendant beaten to death in GMCH

Guwahati, September 17, 2019:

A man was beaten to death by an attendant of a patient in Gauhati Medical College (GMCH) and Hospital on Tuesday morning.

It has been reported that the deceased man, identified as Chandan Dhar’s and the attacker Islim Ali, both of their wives were admitted in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Maternity department at GMCH.

Chandan Dhar who is a resident of Natun Bazar in Basistha, turned unconscious while carrying water for the patient and fell over Islim Ali’s wife. Following this, Ali started beating Dhar and died on stop.

A case has been registered against the accused under section 302, with case no. 399/19 at Bhangagarh Police Station.
