Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday paid tributes to all those who took part in the Quit India Movement on the occasion of the movement's 79th anniversary.

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday paid tributes to all those who took part in the Quit India Movement on the occasion of the movement's 79th anniversary.

In a tweet, the Prime Minister said; "Tributes to the greats who took part in the Quit India Movement, which played a crucial role in strengthening the fight against colonialism. Inspired by Mahatma Gandhi, the spirit of the Quit India movement reverberated across India and energized the youth of our nation."

Speaking further he said that inspired by Mahatma Gandhi, spirit of the Quit India movement reverberated across India & energized the youth of the nation.

The Quit India Movement played a crucial role in the Indian freedom struggle.

Gandhi gave the clarion call of "Do or Die" to all Indians to end the colonial rule on this day in the year 1942.
