MONTENEGRO: Sanamcha Chanu and Vinka has bagged gold medals in their respective weight categories in the 30th Adriatic Pearl boxing tournament, in Budva, Montenegro on Sunday.
Their victory has taken India's tally to three gold medals at the tournament.
While Sanamacha beat compatriot Raj Sahiba, Vinka defeated Kiper Kristina of Moldova in the final bout.
Congratulating Sanamacha Chanu, Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh wrote on Twitter, “Congratulations to T. Sanamacha Chanu on clinching gold medal at the 30th Adriatic Pearl Tournament in Budva, Montenegro. My best wishes in all her future tournaments.”
Earlier in 2019, both boxers had won gold at the Asian Youth Boxing Championships in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

In a unanimous 5-0 victory to set up an all-Indian final against Raj Sahiba, Sanamacha had earlier defeated Uzbekistan's Sokhiba Ruzmetova.
Vinka, meanwhile, made light work of Suvi Tujula, her Finnish opponent. As she conceded a series of punches, Suvi was no match for the Indian, forcing the referee to stop the contest in the second round.
Besides that, India also secured two silver medals and four bronze, in other bouts on the second day.
Earlier, fellow Asian junior champion Alfiya Pathan (+81kg) set the ball rolling in Montenegro for India by securing the first gold medal of the contingent, defeating Moldova's Daria Kozorev 5-0.
