Guwahati, December 26, 2018:

Addressing a meeting of the ruling Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF), Chief  Minister Pawan Chamling expressed confidence of winning the assembly elections in 2019 and keeping the state free of “negative and communal forces”, taking a dig at the opposition. He also expressed his support for inclusive politics and expressed optimism of winning the state for a record sixth time. He said that the SDF had been inclusive and benefitted people of all communities, sections and religions with its non-discriminatory policies.

The five-term Chief Minister also added that communal forces from both within and outside the state have been attempting to transform the political fabric of the hilly state and stated the necessity of winning the upcoming election. Without taking any names, the Chief Minister also slammed the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) party led by P.S. Golay who had announced their programmes at a meeting at Zorethang and described it as a party of corrupt, exploitative and anti-people elements.
