GANGTOK: Despite the ebbing away of the rate of infections in Sikkim, the state government has decided to continue with lockdown restrictions until at least 6 am on July 12.
However, a number of relaxations have been allowed which will allow the state to return to some semblance of normalcy. For this next week, certain relaxations can be availed by those persons who have been inoculated against the virus.
Considering factors like fall in coronavirus cases and the state's economy, relaxations would be the same across Sikkim from tomorrow onwards.
From July 5 onwards, all state government offices including PSUs, boards, corporations under the state
government shall work with 100% attendance of those employees who have received
both doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.
Other employees may be permitted to follow the present arrangement of 50% attendance.

Meanwhile, the heads of departments have been urged to ensure vaccination of all employees in
consultation with the health department.
All factories, production units, and commercial establishments, where all the workers and employees have received both doses of Covid-19 vaccine, shall now be allowed to operate with 100% manpower. Other units will continue to follow the 50% attendance norm.
Persons (including tourists) who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, shall be allowed entry from Melli and Rangpo check post. Tourists without an RT-PCR negative report shall be allowed entry on the production of valid vaccination documents. For all others, existing restrictions will continue to apply.
All hotels, guest houses, and home stays shall be allowed to operate with 50% capacity. The management shall ensure strict adherence to Covid-19 protocol.
Malls and showrooms shall also be permitted to operate considering strict compliance to the Covid-19 protocols. Pillion riders shall now be allowed in all two-wheelers.
