GANGTOK: National Highway 10 in Sikkim remained completely blocked at 29th mile due to multiple landslides, triggered by heavy rainfall.
Reportedly, vehicles are being diverted and JCBs have been brought in to clear the slide.
The problem of landslide in the National Highway has been causing inconvenience to the commuters time and again.
Legendary footballer from the region Bhaichung Bhutia recently pointed out the issue of the highway and stressed that 'Sikkim deserves a better and bigger highway connectivity'.
Bhaichung recently took a road trip from Siliguri in West Bengal to Gangtok in Sikkim.
In a video, the former footballer showed how the landslide blocked the highway in some parts causing difficulty to the travelers.
During the course of the video, Bhaichung showed the miserable condition of the road.
Speaking of the pathetic condition of the National Highway, Bhaichung said that the 'this has remained like this since' his childhood.
"There is no improvement... it is dangerous as fresh stones have fallen off from the top', he added showing his viewers the risk at which the commuters are travelling via the highway.
