Sikkim: Sandhya Gurung features for Prestigious Dronacharya Award 2021

GANGTOK: Sikkimese daughter, Sandhya Gurung featured for Prestigious Dronacharya Award for the year 2021. Gurung is the first Sikkimese to receive the Nation's highest sporting honour in the field of Boxing.

Sandhya Gurung is a National Boxing Coach under Boxing Federation of India (BFI) since last five years.

She is now working as a Head Boxing Coach under Sports and Youth Affairs Department.

Her passionate and hard works towards the coaching and training proved her coaching efficiency at International level as a result; Ms. Lovlina Borogain won the Bronze Medal on recently concluded Tokyo Olympics Games.
