An assistant professor of Sikkim University has been booked by Ranipool police following a sexual harassment complaint lodged by a colleague.
Reportedly, the Assistant Professor of Peace and Conflict department has been alleged for sexually harassing assistant professor of another department.
The victim assistant professor with the same university has lodged an FIR at Ranipool police station against accused Rd. Dinesh Kumar Ahirwar, Assistant Professor, Department of peace and conflict studies and Management stating he has been sexually harassing and stalking her since 31st January by way of messaging and calling her repeatedly.

Further the complainant stated that she tried to warn him on several instances by blocking his number and his social media account but the alleged instead started emailing her with sexual vulgar content thereby disrespecting her and harming her personal integrity.
The alleged recently visited her house twice and on the second occasion that is on 17th August 2020 he entered the house when she was alone without her prior invitation and consent and on expressing her annoyance, the alleged person argued with her making her feel uneasy and intimidated with his behavior read police report.
Accused has been booked under section 354 A/354 D/448/509 IPC and is now under police custody.
Registrar TK Kaul said, "We don’t have any information on this because it’s a holiday”.
