Steps being Taken to Ensure Non-Tribals' Safety in Meghalaya, Says BJP's Ram Madhav

Guwahati, March 8, 2020:

BJP National General Secretary and one of the party's strongest voices Ram Madhav on March 8 claimed that the Meghalayan Government is monitoring the situation in the state to prevent violence against the non-tribal residents, and ensure the safety of every citizen.

Responding to Meghalaya Governor Tathagata Roy's recent statement comparing the condition of the non-tribals with the "There are certain issues with regard to general safety and security of non tribals of Shillong. State government has also taken steps to ensure that the security of each and every citizen -- whether it is a tribal or non-tribals is protected", Madhav said, and added that the Chief Minister has also taken steps to ensure safety in the state that was recently hit by a spate of violent activities.

Brushing off election defeats in Maharastra and Jharkhand, Madhav said that overall, the BJP will add to its tally of seats at the end of its election cycle, and further exuded confidence of snatching away Bengal from the clutches of the Trinamool Congress. He said, "We will defeat Mamata Banerjee Government and form our own Government".

Madhv, responding a question about the protests against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, claimed that they took shape due to "misformation" spread by the Congress and its allies. "To ensure that the misinformation regarding the CAA is dispelled and for peace in Assam, you have already seen what is being done...recently, our party has taken out a big rally in Dibrugarh..." Madhav also claimed that the apprehensions regarding the No more misgivings in the minds of the people

Lambasting the Congress for its opposition to the CAA and alliance with the Badruddin Ajmal-led AIUDF party, Madhav said, "Congress is trying to mislead the people[....]Either secretly or openly, they (Congress and AIUDF) stick together.

Madhav, weighing in on the ensuing polls in the Bololand Territorial Council, said that the State unit will take decision how to proceed with its alliance with the ruling Bodoland People's Front (BPF).
