Guwahati, December 9, 2018:

The Northeast Frontier Railway Construction Organization constructed the tallest pier of India, to build the world’s tallest railway bridge at Noney in Manipur.

Senior PRO SK Ojha informed that they have successfully crossed the 100 meter mark, making it the India’s tallest pier. The bridge has been constructed across the valley of river Ijai near Noney with pier height of 141 metre and 703 metre long.

The existing tallest railway bridge is Mala-Rijeka viaduct in Montenegro in Europe with a height of 139 meter.

According to officials, this will be the longest railway tunnel in the North East.
