AGARTALA: The Tripura government official has confirmed recently that as many as 36 girls in two orphanages in Agartala have been tested positive for COVID-19.
Positive children are aged between 5 to 16 years.
It was informed that all of them are stable and under isolation in the orphanages.
Out of 36 children, 32 are from Jawaharlal Nehru Girls Home at Narsingarh and the other 4 cases were from Ujan Abhoynagar Children Home.

A girl from Jawaharlal Nehru Girls Home fell ill a few days back and on testing found positive for COVID-19.
After that when the government had taken initiative and conducted tests at the orphanage 31 other girls found positive.
Likewise, tests were conducted at the Ujan Abhoynagar Children's Home from where four found positive
"The children are under proper treatment", said state Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath while speaking with the media.
