Tripura board exams to be held as scheduled; educational institutions to remain closed from tomorrow

GUWAHATI/AGARTALA: The Tripura government today announced that the state board examinations for students of Classes X and XII will be held as has been scheduled.

Taking to Twitter, state education minister Ratan Lal Nath stated that examinations for both the classes will be conducted with strict adherence to COVID-19 protocols.

The minister also stated that in the wake of rising number of COVID-19 cases in the state, all schools, colleges and universities will remain closed from tomorrow until further orders.

The Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) had earlier released the dates for Classes X and XII examinations to begin on May 19 and May 18 respectively.

While the Class X examinations will end on June 4, Class XII examinations will be conducted till June 11.

The rate of COVID-19 infection in Tripura has been on the rise of late. As many as 354 COVID-19 positive cases have been recorded over the past fortnight while two persons have succumbed to the disease during the period.

Restrictions on crowd and action against non-wearing of masks is already in place in the state.
