AGARTALA: The Tripura government has taken the decision to reduce the syllabi for classes 10 and 12 board exams by 30% for the year 2022.

The announcement was made by the state’s secondary education board president Dr. Bhabatosh Saha as stated in a report.

Saha said that the decision was taken considering the current pandemic situation in the state.

Such a decision has been taken for the second time consecutively owing to the disruptions caused by the global pandemic.

The students of Classes 9 to 12 prepared for only 70% of the syllabi while the 30% was curtailed.

Tripura ordered the closure of all educational institutions in the state including schools, colleges, and universities back in the month of April owing to the surge in COVID-19 cases in the state.

The 10 and 12 board examinations were initially postponed this year for the academic session 2020-2021.

However, the state government is yet to come up with a final decision on the matter.
