The Kolkata police has arrested four fraudsters who were engaged in ATM hacking in Agartala in Tripura and Guwahati in Assam, among other places.

The Cyber crime department of Tripura police informed that, based on their constant efforts at the Cyber Crime Unit of Tripura Police Crime Branch for the last few days and effective inputs, four people comprising of two Turkish Nationals; Hakan Zanburkan, Fettah Aldemir and two Bangladesh Nationals; Md Hannan and Md Rafiqul Islam, have been detained at Belgharia in Kolkata in the wee hours on Tuesday.

They have been detained with reference to the ATM Skimming and card cloning cases registered in Agartala, Tripura, recently. Police have informed that a team is already in action to transport the fraudsters to Tripura.
According to the cyber crime branch the hackers installed ‘Skimmer Device’ in four ATM counters in Agartala. The ATM counters are: Battala SBI ATM counter, Indra Nagar SBI ATM counter, Kaman Chowmuhani SBI ATM counter and State Co-operative ATM counter at Post officer Chowmuhani.
According to police, many customers visiting the ATMs lost money to the fraudsters, and the SBI authorities closed all four ATM counters last night.
