Tripura: NIA Detains Bangladeshi National Suspected of Carrying Out Blast

Agartala, 20 November, 2019:

The National investigation agency (NIA) along with Mizoram and Tripura police detained a Bangladeshi national in Tripura's capital city Agartala on Wednesday.

Reportedly, the Bangladeshi national has been living in Tripura since the last one and half years. The Bangladeshi nation was reportedly working as a day laborer in Tripura.

However, the NIA officials did not reveal any information about his identity and the cause of his detention. The NIA team are reportedly interrogating the suspect, and he is yet to be produced in the Court.

Since noon, the investigation team raided several mobile phone shops and seized several documents. The investigation team also conducted raids in some SIM card shops, it has been learnt.

It has been learnt that a group of NIA officials divided into several groups are currently conducting an investigation in the state of Tripura.

Sources said that the team of NIA officials is investigating a blast case related to the northeast region, and are operating a manhunt for the culprits, who have reportedly found refuge in Tripura.

It may be mentioned here that Nazir Seikh (25), an extremist belonging to the banned outfit Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) was arrested earlier this year in May, from Agartala, the capital city of Tripura.
