Tripura School Boy Thrashed to Death by Mob for Loving Girl

Agartala, October 18, 2019:

A Tripura school boy was lynched by his neighbours over a 'love affair'. The incident was reported on Thursday at Kakraban police station under Udaipura subdivision of Gomoti District.

A certain Prafulla Sarkar filed an FIR against some villagers and alleged that they had beaten his nephew, Ripon Sarkar, after which Ripon had reportedly died on the spot.

The incident happened at Garjanmura village of Udaipur. Villagers said that Ripon had fallen in love with a girl of the same village, after which the girl's family had thrashed him to death.

Prafulla Sarkar alleged that Ripon was beaten by Narayan Sarkar, Liton Sarkar, Manik Sarkar, Samar Sarkar and some other neighbours. Prafulla said that after called Kakraban police station.

Police later recovered the body and send it to Gomoti District Hospital. But in the hospital, doctors, after examining Ripon, certified that he was brought dead.

A murder case has been filed at Kakraban police station by Prafulla Sarkar. In his FIR, Prafulla Sarkar alleged that Narayan Sarkar, Liton Sarkar, Manik Sarkar, Samar Sarkar and among others, had killed Ripon.

Ripon was a student of Garjanmura School and was studying in class XII. Ripon’s parents are staying in Bangladesh, and he was staying at Udaipura at his maternal uncle's house for his studies.
