AGARTALA: Prominent bamboo scientist Dr. Pawan K Koushik has succumbed to the COVID-19 in Tripura this week here.
Dr. Koushik was the director of the Forest Research Centre for Livelihood Extension (FRCLE) as well.
Dr. Koushik reportedly succumbed to the deadly virus on Monday late in the evening after brief suffering.
Koushik hailed from Madhya Pradesh and has been working in Tripura for the past 15 years.

Worth mentioning that Dr. Koushik has made immense development in the bamboo sector during his tenure and will be remembered for the same.
Popular bamboo-made water bottles, which drew the attention of various celebrities as well, were the innovation of Dr. Koushik.
Environmentalist Koushik has also founded the Integrated Mountain Initiative and the Clean Himalaya Initiative in Tripura.
The 52-year-old scientist, who has improved the livelihood in the tribal helmets of the state through his bamboo revolution, survived by his parents, wife and two children.
