GUWAHATI: An earthquake measuring 7.2 on the Richter scale has jolted northeast Japan this afternoon.
Following this, the meteorological agency of Japan issued a tsunami advisory.
“Earthquake of Magnitude:6.8, Occurred on 20-03-2021, 14:39:47 IST, Lat: 38.53 & Long: 141.62, Depth: 77 Km ,Location: 362km NNE of Tokyo, Japan,” the National Center of Seismology tweeted.
No damages to life or property have been reported so far.

According to reports, Tohoku Electric Power Co has shut down the Onagawa nuclear power plant and is investigating any irregularities.
Meanwhile, the Tokyo Electric Power said it is checking the Fukushima Dai-Ichi nuclear power plant, which was destroyed by the massive earthquake that occurred in March 2011 that resulted in nuclear meltdowns and mass evacuations.
