GUWAHATI: Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi said that he will make a movie on Ahom general Lachit Borphukan, taking 75% artist from Assam.
The actor made the announcement yesterday during chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal’s Majuli programme ‘Sahodar 2020-21’(a cultural exchange programme of different ethnic communities of the state) held at Jengraimukh, Majuli district.
The actor visited Assam to attend CM Sonowal’s Majuli programme.
Speaking at the event, Vivek Oberoi appreciated CM Sonowal’s initiative to make Majuli a carbon-neutral district.
Furthermore, he said that steps would be taken to open around 30 centres in Assam under the I-30 programme grooming students for competitive examinations. The island's natural atmosphere will set an example for the country, he added.

Expressing joy on visiting Assam, Vivek Oberoi wrote on Twitter, “In the serene tea garden of awesome Assam. Soft breeze and captivating smell of tea leaves leave you enamoured. #awesomeassam.”
