WASHINGTON: The world’s first baby with COVID-19 antibodies was born in the United States.
The baby was born with antibodies to combat coronavirus after being born to a mother in South Florida who had received one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine during her pregnancy.
In an article that has yet to be peer-reviewed, doctors outlined their results regarding the world's first baby born with antibodies.
The mother is a frontline healthcare worker who got her first Moderna shot when she was 36 weeks pregnant in January.

The woman gave birth to a "healthy" girl three weeks after the first dose, said doctors Paul Gilbert and Chad Rudnick.
By examining blood from the baby's umbilical cord, Scientists determined that the antibodies were present at the time of birth
Based on this, the doctors concluded that vaccinating pregnant women could reduce the rate of infection.
However, the doctors noted that further research is needed to determine if the antibodies protect babies.
