A Delhi court had previously given a non-bailable warrant against the suspects including Sushil Kumar in connection with the murder of 23-year-old Sagar Rana at Chhatrasal Stadium.

On May 4, there was a fight among wrestlers in which some wrestlers were injured and had to be taken to the hospital where one of them died while undergoing treatment.

Wrestler Sushil on the other hand refuted the accusation on May 5, claiming that his wrestlers were not involved in the battle inside Chhatrasal Stadium.

Wrestler Sushil is considered one of the country's most promising athletes, had won a silver medal in the 2012 London Olympics and a bronze medal four years prior in the Beijing Olympics.
