Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma has flagged off a first-of-its-kind wooden 'Pizza Barn', a unique and conceptual pizza joint at Mawlai Umshing in capital city Shillong, today.
Speaking to media persons outside the venue, the Chief Minister said: "The reason I came personally is because I have always believed in entrepreneurship, and I have always always believed that our young boys and girls have got the talent and they have all the necessary qualities to really shine in different sectors and different fields. It is to motivate them -- whether it is a big factory or a beautiful restaurant or any kind of start-up -- I want to encourage it."
The Chief Minister was also seen digging into slices of pizza and having light-hearted fun at the cosy pizza joint .
Right when we take that first bite of warm pizza crust topped with tomato sauce and cheese, our taste buds are stimulated by glutamate, and the Pizza barn will fill the need for the goodness of pizza, while promoting young entrepreneurship ideas in the long run.
The eatery is the first-of-its-kind in Meghalaya and gives a very "localized" feel while serving Italian dishes at the same time.
The unique place is one of the most exciting and original concepts to have come out of the Northeast in recent times and could easily become one of the "must visit" locations when one undertakes his/her voyage to Meghalaya capital Shillong, which is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Northeast.
It may be mentioned that the Meghalaya CM is putting great stress on entrepreneurship in Meghalaya. Recently, Conrad made headlines for launching the 'Muga Mission' with an objective to enable farmers to increase production & add value to muga silk.
