Meghalaya logs 19 COVID deaths in 24 hrs, a North Garo Hills market under containment zone

SHILLONG: Meghalaya in the past 24 hours recorded 19 deaths related to COVID-19, taking the death tally to 355.
On the other hand, the state also reported as many as 906 fresh cases of the infection, the highest single-day spike, pushing the total number of positive cases in the state to over 5,000.
The state recorded a new high of 470 recoveries. With the new recoveries, the total number of people recovered so far is 19,185.

Meghalaya currently has 5332.
Meanwhile, the Kharkutta market in North Garo Hills has been put on a containment zone yesterday from 5 pm for three days till 6 am on May 21.
