PUBG Mobile was banned in India last month along with 117 more Chinese-linked apps. This included both PUBG Mobile and Mobile Lite.

Following the government order, PUBG Mobile was removed from the Google Play Store and App Store. The game could still be played for those who had it installed on their phones.

However, PUBG Mobile has now announced that it will stop functioning in India from today onwards.

A recent LinkedIn job posting by Krafton, the company that owns PUBG Corporation for ‘Corporate Development Division Manager’ in India had raised hopes, but the job could be for the console and PC versions of the game, which are not banned in India. It remains to be seen when or whether the game will be back but for now it seems to be a dead-end for all the fans in India.

During this time there were reports of PUBG Mobile possibly partnering with telcos like Airtel and Reliance Jio to relaunch its services in India. PUBG Corp even posted a job opening in India that got fans excited. But all of that’s put to rest now as PUBG Mobile has finally cleared the air.
