Description: This is Mizo favourite.

Serves: 4-5 people

Ingredients :

  • Samtawk - 250 grams
  • Brinjal - 250 grams
  • Beans - 10-15 nos.
  • Potatoes - 3 medium seized
  • Cabbage - 1 small
  • Tomatoes - 3 small
  • Green chillies - 5 nos. (slit vertically)
  • Soda a pinch
  • Saum to taste (fermented pork fat)
  • Bekang - 1 tbsp (fermented Soya bean)
  • Lengser - 3 sticks
  • Salt to taste

Procedure: (15-20 minutes)

  • Boil samtawk, brinjal, green chillies, a few beans, potatoes, cabbage and tomatoes (together) till done.
  • Then add a pinch of soda, sa um and bekang for flavour. Then put lengser.
  • Add salt, cook this for about 5-8 minutes and the dish is ready.
