ARUNACHAL PRADESH: DREE FOOD FESTIVAL INAUGURATED

Former Deputy Chief Councillor of Itanagar Municipal Council Tarh Nachung inaugurated the Dree Food Festival at the Dree Ground, Papu Nallah in presence of the Capital Complex Dree Festival Celebration Committee members and others.

Organized as part of Dree festival celebration, the food festival will continue till July 5 that coincides with the celebration of the biggest agricultural festival of the Apatani community.

Altogether, 10 traditional food stalls were put up at the venue by various SHGs and entrepreneurs. Moreover, there are also few other exhibition stalls on traditional dresses and other handicrafts.

Speaking on the occasion, Nachung greeted the Apatani community people and wished them peace and prosperity in the year ahead. He also expressed his happiness on inaugurating the food festival. He later tasted the local foods of Apatani community.

Nachung said that maximum of the our tribal festivals like Nyokum, Mopin, Dree, etc are agriculture based and the respective communities pray their gods and goddesses for peace, prosperity of all as well as for bumper harvest.
