Khampa Borgoyary, the candidate nominated by the Bodoland Peoples Front (BPF) for the No.1 Kokrajhar Lok Sabha constituency, officially filed his nomination at the Kokrajhar District Commissioner's office today. The event witnessed the presence of prominent BPF figures including party chief Hagrama Mohilary, former Assam cabinet minister Pramila Rani Brahma, and West Kokrajhar MLA Rabiram Narzary, among others.
Prior to the nomination filing, a massive rally was organized by the BPF, starting from Khampa Borgoyary's residence and culminating at the Kokrajhar DC office. This rally served as a demonstration of the BPF's strength and support base in the region.
Speaking to the media after filing his nomination, Khampa Borgoyary expressed confidence in his victory, stating that his success was assured with 100 percent certainty. He dismissed the effectiveness of BJP National President J P Nadda's campaign efforts, asserting that the political dynamics of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) were distinct from those of other parts of the country.
Addressing the media, BPF chief Hagrama Mohilary echoed Borgoyary's sentiments, declaring the BPF as the inevitable victor in the constituency. Mohilary also made remarks regarding Nava Kumar Sarania, suggesting that Sarania's nomination would be nullified if filed, hinting at potential legal or procedural challenges.
Furthermore, Mohilary criticized the NDA alliance, alleging that they resorted to tactics such as distributing money to gather public support, insinuating that such actions were aimed at manipulating public opinion rather than genuine political engagement.
