A clash broke out between two groups at a polling booth in Mankachar, within Assam's Dhubri Lok Sabha constituency, as voters queued up to cast their votes on May 7.
The incident, which took place at No. 158 polling booth in Kathalbari, resulted in chaotic scenes outside the booth. Security officials were dispatched to manage the situation and restore order.
In the ongoing third phase of the Lok Sabha elections in Assam, a cumulative voter turnout of 27.34 percent has been documented across the four constituencies as of 11:30 am.
Among these, Kokrajhar registered the highest polling percentage at 28.28 percent, closely followed by Dhubri at 27.77 percent. Barpeta secured the third position with a turnout of 27.19 percent, while Guwahati lagged behind with 26.25 percent voter participation.
