Renowned actor Adil Hussain from Assam received the Best Actor Award at Indo German Film Week held in Berlin on 30 September for his commendable performance in Prakash Jha's Pareeksha, a Hindi-language movie where he played the role of Buchchi Paswan.
Hussain playing the role as a Rickshaw puller has big dreams for his son. The movie is based on the real-life story of IPS officer Abhayanand, who teaches and coaches students in a village in Bihar affected by the Naxalism to help them clear the IIT-JEE exam.

Vijay Jayapal's Neervana Inn, again a Hindi language horror film where he played the role of Jogiraj Chakraborty where he is being positioned as the manager of the Hotel Neervina Inn where he witnesess supernatural events that keep him up at night and haunt him by day.
