Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar’s Kesari had been appreciated by the all as it portrays events leading to the Battle of Saragarhi, a battle between 21 soldiers of the 36th Sikhs of the British Indian Army and 6,000–10,000 Afridi and Orakzai Pashtun tribesmen in 1897.
Apart from the movie, the songs have gained popularity, especially the title track “Teri Mitti” has gained momentum among the jawans of the state.
On Thursday, a BSF jawan from Assam’s Kampur, Bhaskar Jyoti Medhi’s video singing the song along with his colleagues was shared by Kesari hero Akshay Kumar on his social media account at Facebook, Tweeter and Instagram.
Sharing the video, Akshay captioned, “Came across this heart-warming video which made my day. When your small tribute reaches the people it’s meant for...what more can you ask for? A million salutes to our #BharatKeVeer”
While speaking to Inside Northeast, Bhaskar Jyoti Medi said, “I was not aware of the post shared by Akshay Kumar. I and my friends were singing some songs when my friends said they will record it and I said let’s record in selfie mode. And after we recorded the song, one of my friends shared it on his Facebook around four days ago. A day after he posted the video, my friend informed that Akshay Kumar has shared the video. I am not much into social media, so I installed Instagram yesterday to check it and it made me feel happy. So, I personally messaged Akshay for this expressing my happiness.”
