Assam heartthrob Zubeen Garg on Friday announced a “musical protest rally” scheduled for January 5 that will begin from the 'Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Samadhi Kshetra' in Jalukbari and will be concluded at Silpukhuri in Guwahati.
Sharing a video on social media, Zubeen Garg called upon the people of Assam to join the protest and said, “The ‘musical protest rally’ will have no chaos in it, rather, the artistes of Assam will be joining the protest with musical performances.”

Calling upon the people of Assam to join the protest, the musical icon informed that the students’ fraternity of Gauhati University, Cotton University, and all the colleges will participate in the protest rally.
He also mentioned that all the indigenous organizations have also extended assurance to support the protest that is scheduled on January 5.
It is to be mentioned here the people of Assam have been seen protesting against the contentious Citizenship (Amendment) Act amid new year celebrations and the approaching ‘Magh Bihu”, a major festival celebrated in the state.
