'Joker', the latest take on the iconic 'Batman' villain is about to hit the theatres and moviegoers could not be more stoked.
Perhaps no cinema 'baddie' commands as much awe and respect as the Batman villain, which first appeared in 'Batman#1' in 1940. Heath Ledger's Oscar-winning turn as the sinister clown in 2008's 'The Dark Knight' almost lent the character a cult like status, and the villain's popularity continues to endure, despite new heroes and villains being churned out on a regular basis by Hollywood.

Thus, moviegoers are stoked to watch the latest version of the sinister clown on the big screen. Also, the fact that the titular character is played by the acting legend Joaquin Phoenix certainly adds to the thrill.
Speaking to Inside Northeast, Joyharvard N. Marak, a resident of Shillong, says, "I am planning to watch DC's 'Joker' because Joker has always been my favorite, and it can be argued that he is perhaps the coolest villainous character on screen currently."
Pooja Nuniza, a superhero movie fan from Halflong says, "Character of Joker is unique because he has mixed chracteristics. The character has been known to be romantic, brave, crazy, psychotic, and at times, downright roguish. There is always something vibrant and new in the character of the Joker, which is why despite being a villain, he is such an icon."

Directed by Todd Phillips, 'Joker' is an original standalone origin story of the iconic villain not seen before on the big screen. The Internet movie database describes it as a "gritty character study of Arthur Fleck, a man disregarded by society, and a broader cautionary tale."
'Joker' stands at a robust 75% on the aggregator platform 'Rotten Tomatoes', while the critics' consensuz reads, "Joker gives its infamous central character a chillingly plausible origin story that serves as a brilliant showcase for its star and a dark evolution for comics-inspired cinema".
Joaquin Phoenix, Zazie Beetz, Robert De Niro and Jolie Chan-starrer ‘Joker’ is set to be released on October 4.
