Kalpana Patowary will be representing Folk and Cultural Tradition of India in the Commonwealth Games 2018. Being an Indian folk singer she is amongst the invited acts as a part of the Commonwealth Games (GC 2018) that will be held in Queensland, Gold Coast in Australia from 4th to 5th April. Unusual in her musical approach Kalpana breaks the stereotypes to promote cultural and linguistic diversity of India working assiduously in 30 Indian dialects and languages of over 18000 songs.
She will be performing Bhojpuri and Assamese repertoire in the concert entitled 'Ecstatic – Music of the Subcontinent' in the Surfers Paradise main stage in Gold Coast as part of the Festival. The concert will of ninety minutes where a billion people will be watching the ceremony worldwide featuring lovely and brilliant world musicians, various artists from countries like Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
When reached out to Kalpana, she stated that 'I was overjoyed by the honour I have received. And I thank everyone for supporting me, loving me and blessing me through out my musical journey. My inclusion to the festival is a great honour, it will be a recognition in global podium and also it will be a world class experience for me.
