MUMBAI: Actor Kangana Ranaut was recently in news for a tweet misidentifying an elderly Sikh woman who has been a part of the farmer’s protest as Bilkis Bano of Shaheen Bagh. She falsely accused the elderly woman of joining the protest for the price of 100.

The actress deleted her tweet soon but it was too late and several stars like Prince Narula, Sargun Mehta, Himanshi Khurana slammed her for saying “anything”. Recently, actor and singer Diljit Dosanjh has joined Punjabi artists to criticise Kangana Ranaut’s comments on the farmers’ protests on social media.

Dosanjh posted a video of the elderly woman named Mahinder Kaur, who has been at the forefront of the protests and wrote, “ Listen to this proof, @KanganaTeam. One should not be this blind. She keeps saying anything.”

Retaliating to Dosanj’s tweet Ranaut took to her Twitter and wrote, “Ooo Karan johar ke paltu, jo dadi Saheen Baag mein apni citizenship keliye protest kar rahi thi wohi Bilkis Bano dadi ji Farmers ke MSP ke liye bhi protest karti hue dikhi. Mahinder Kaur ji ko toh main janti bhi nahin. Kya drama chalaya hai tum logon ne? Stop this right now.”

Dosanjh posted a video of the elderly woman named Mahinder Kaur, who has been at the forefront of the protests and wrote, “ Listen to this proof, @KanganaTeam. One should not be this blind. She keeps saying anything.”
The tweet started rounds of arguments between the two movie stars. Retaliating to Dosanj’s tweet Ranaut took to her Twitter and wrote, “Ooo Karan johar ke paltu, jo dadi Saheen Baag mein apni citizenship keliye protest kar rahi thi wohi Bilkis Bano dadi ji Farmers ke MSP ke liye bhi protest karti hue dikhi. Singer Dilijit Dosanjh further responded to her by writing, “ You are a pet for all the people you have worked with, then the list is long for you. This is not Bollywood this is Punjab. You are well versed in lying and manipulating emotions.”

The Twitter fight didn’t stop there and Kangana Ranaut again responded by tweeting, “ Oh chamche chal, tu jinki chat chat ke kaam leta hai, main unki roz bajati hoon, jayada mat uchal, main Kangana Ranaut hoon tere jaisi chamchi nahin jo jhoot boloon, maine sirf aur sirf Shaheen Baag wali protestor pe comment kiya tha, if anyone can prove otherwise I will apologise.”

To this, Dosanjh replied by tweeting, “You have no manners to speak.. Being a woman how can you call someone else’s sister or mother a 100 rupees person. In Punjab mothers are like god to us. Translate my Punjabi on Google.”

Most recently, Kangana Ranaut has tweeted, “ Mera ya tumhara sahi hona zaroori nahin hai, desh ka sahi hona zaroori hai, tum log farmers ko bhatka rahe ho, pareshaan hoon main inn protests se aaye din in riots se iss khoon kharabe se, aur tum sab bhaagidaar ho ismein… remember that,” to which Dosanjh responded by sharing a picture of the woman and wrote, “ Do you think she can cause violence? every time you talk about violence, what do you want? She is like God to us, nobody has taught you the manners to talk.”

Social media is now awaiting further escalation between Dosanjh and Rnaut while farmers protests continue to rage in the capital of the nation.
