GUWAHATI: 'Midnight Song', an Assamese film directed by Arunjit Borah and produced by 'Media People' has been able to garner positive work-of-mouth ahead of its release in the theaters on January 29.
'Midnight Song' features actors Monuj Borkotoky, Rupam Chetia, and Kalpana Kalita in prominent roles, and is primarily about a love triangle. The fast-paced trailer has been able to grab attention with its background score -- which features guitar riffs and a soaring violin -- adding to the overall mood of the suspense of the film.
The trailer, which premiered on January 13, has accrued 2.3K views on YouTube. While that number is not huge by any stretch of the imagination, the response thus far has been overwhelming.

Aparajita Bhuyan, the producer of the film, told us that the film is a "suspense thriller based on a relation crisis."
"What is astounding is that we shot the film within ten days only. Due to the content and subject matter of the film, we are hoping for a massive response. Although many halls in Assam have closed after the double whammy of the 'CAA' and the Covid-19 crisis, we took the risk of making a movie because we believed in the script and storyline" she added.
Bhuyan said that the release of the film, the first after the COVID-19 pandemic surfaced in Assam, will coincide with the 50th year celebration of the Anuradha Cinema Hall in Assam's Guwahati city, which is one of the oldest cinematheques in the state.
