Earlier, Ranu Mondal had landed in the soup after a video of the crooner refusing to click a selfie with an adoring fan went viral.
Offended at being nudged on her arm, Ranu repeated asked the woman, "What is this?" in an accusatory tone. These acts earned the wrath of fans, and many alleged that stardom had gotten to the head of the humble singer from the Ranaghat Railway station. Ranu was also brutally trolled on social media for allegedly putting on airs, and memes poking fun of the social media superstar started doing the rounds.
Later, Ranu had declined to comment on the episode upon being confronted by journalists, and it was reported that she had misbehaved with the journalists also.
