REVIVAL OF ASSAMESE FILM INDUSTRY: MARKSHEET TO BE RELEASED SOON

Guwahati, February 23,2018:

An excellent number of Assamese films are hitting the theaters by the new comer directors telling personal or autobiographical stories, that somewhat reflect their upbringing and curiosities.

Mark sheet is a film directed by Ratan Sil Sharma which will be releasing soon in the theaters.  Sanjive Narain being the producer of the film and the film is under the banner of Enajori Talkies and HDR Creations. Seven days  are left for the release of the film.

With a vast experience of more than 14 years in the entertainment industry, Sarma has been associated with various national and international media houses as well as notable advertising agencies.

Before making the film Ratan along with his friends Himjyoti talukdar and Dikhit Das decided to make a film by analyzing  the assamese films. Firstly,They made a sketch of the film of 90 minutes and lot of input were given to develop the script. The film mainly focuses on family and children.

A part of the movie was completed by crowd funding, which is catching up with Assamese filmmakers in a big way. Special screenings were also done in Jyoti Chitraban where they got a good response from the crowd.

‘Marksheet’ was selected in six different categories in the Prag Cine Awards 2016 and received three awards – ‘Best Debut Direction’ for Ratan Sil Sarma, ‘Best Playback Singer Male’ for Mrinal Baishnav and ‘Jury Special Mention’ for Aditya Malla Buzarbaruah and Abhijit Chowdhury.
