Determination and courage are the two pillars of success and this is definitely put up by Sharat Katariya in his recent release “Sui Dhaga-made in India”. The movie starring Anushka Sharma and Varun Dhanwan hit the theatres on 28th of September and within three days it has left a heartwarming touch in the minds of the audience with its simple story line of pride and self reliance. The story revolves around two couples Mauji(played by Varun Dhawan) and Mamta(Anushka Sharma)and their struggle to setup their own tailoring business. ‘Sab thik hain’ is the only mantra that Mauji lives with, amidst of his tough times.
Within three days of its release the rating charts says-
IMBD- 6.8/10
TOI- 3.5/5
Hindustan Times- 2/5
It is a very average rating as compared to Katariya’s previous blockbuster “Dum Lagake Haishya”, which readily had a surprising and fun element which Sui Dhaaga lacked to some extent. Also a big set back of the film is its total predictability; one comes to know whats coming miles before the characters do.
The background score balloons in orchestral style when things are sad, and becomes merrily desi whenever things are celebrated on screen.
The film is wrapped up with elements which is so relatable with the people residing in Delhi NCR, although Katariya does not mention any places. It can be a story of any city.
Overall a tale stitched together with sui dhaaga, dipped in desi silaai and kadhaai; played a safe game but you always knew they were already going to, Didn’t you?
