Guwahati, August 28, 2019:

As many as 23 people have been killed and 13 injured on Wednesday in a suspected firebomb attack at a nightclub in Mexico.

Among the 23 deceased, eight were women and 15 men, and 13 others were injured, said reports.

Reportedly, the fire took place on Tuesday night in a bar in Coatzacoalcos, a coastal city in the eastern state of Veracruz.

According to an official statement, the state Attorney general office was investigating a suspected "cruel attack" at Caballo Blanco table dancing bar. The attack, along with the killing of 19 people in the western city of Uruapan earlier this month, is likely to renew fears that the violence of the 2006-2012 drug war has returned.
