The U.N. nuclear watchdog has announced on Thursday that it is still in talks with Iran on the possibility of extending a three-month monitoring deal.
Reportedly, the validity of the deal is till this Friday. It also added that an update shall be provided shortly regarding the matter.
In the month of February the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and Iran announced that they had struck a deal on continuing IAEA monitoring and verification activities in Iran. The decision was taken in spite of the fact that Tehran would reduce cooperation with the IAEA including by ending snap inspections.
"The Agency and Iran are currently in consultations regarding the implementation of the existing understanding. The Director General will provide an update to the (IAEA) Board of Governors in the coming days," it added.
