New Delhi: Former US President Barack Obama in his newly published book "A Promised Land", has written about several leaders of the US and other nations -- the list includes Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

The UPA government, led by Manmohan Singh, was in power for a part of Mr Obama's decade-long tenure from 2009 to 2017.

According to the US daily, the book included former Russian Premier Vladimir Putin, then Secretary of Defense Bob Gates and the US President-elect Joe Biden, among others.

"Secretary of Defense Bob Gates and the Indian prime minister Manmohan Singh both come across as having a kind of impassive integrity".

On the Congress leader, he wrote "Rahul Gandhi has 'a nervous, unformed quality about him, as if he were a student who'd done the coursework and was eager to impress the teacher but deep down lacked either the aptitude or the passion to master the subject'," Obama wrote in his book.

On Sonia Gandhi, Obama wrote, “we are told of the handsomeness of men like Charlie Crist and Rahm Emanuel, but not the beauty of women, except for one or two instances, as in the case of Sonia Gandhi.”

On US presidential elect, Joe Biden, Obama says, “He is a decent man who might get prickly if he thought he wasn’t given his due –– a quality that might flare up when dealing with a much younger boss”.

'A Promised Land' is scheduled for global release on November 17.
