Thai Soldier Goes on Shooting Rampage, Kills at least 10

New Delhi, February 8, 2020:

At least ten people have been killed and several others injured in a mass shooting carried out by a Thai soldier in Northeastern Thailand.

The soldier had gone on a shooting rampage across several locations in the city of Nakhon Ratchasima. According to police, he used a machine gun to shoot innocent people.

The gunman, identified by police as Sergeant Major Jakapanth Thomma, reportedly stole an army vehicle after attacking his commander officer.

Videos and photos circulating online showed panicked scenes, with people fleeing and what appeared to be the sound of automatic gunfire in the air.

The Police is yet to apprehend the soldier. They informed that the soldier remained close to Terminal 21 shopping centre. The authorities have urged the people of the city to remain indoors until the gunman is nabbed.
