Trump Ahmedabad Visit: Govt to Spend Rs 3.7 cr on Flowers to Decorate Route

Ahmedabad, February 15, 2020:

The city of Ahmedabad in Gujarat, PM Modi's home state of Gujarat, is gearing up to welcome American President Donald Trump with flowers that will reportedly cost a whopping Rs 3.7 crore.

According to reports, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has set aside Rs 3.7 crores to beautify Ahmedabad streets with flowers from Chimmanbhai Patel Bridge to Zundal Circle and up to Motera.

Meanwhile, the AMC has also decided that the lighting along the route to the venue will be "theme-based". Various programmes showcasing the rich culture and traditions of India will also be showcased along the route to the venue.

It may be mentioned that the US President Trump and first lady Melania Trump are coming to India on a two-day visit on February 25 and 26.

The United States President has recently tweeted that he is looking forward to the visit and it will be a great "honor" for him to visit India for the first time as the United States President. "Great honor, I think? Mark Zuckerberg recently stated that “Donald J. Trump is Number 1 on Facebook. Number 2 is Prime Minister Modi of India.” Actually, I am going to India in two weeks. Looking forward to it", Trump wrote on Twitter.
