Guwahati Parliamentary Constituency MP, Queen Oja on Monday raised the issue of the Deepor Beel in the Lok Sabha Session on Monday amid Inside Northeast's ongoing campaign to preserve the 'Beel', #LetsSaveDeeporBeel.
Addressing the speaker, Queen Oja appealed the Narendra Modi led-Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Government to incorporate the development of the 'Deepor Beel' under the vision of the smart city for which Rs. 2,296 crores has been sanctioned.
Oja said, “Under the smart city project, a watchtower must be developed and the Beel should be developed as a tourist spot.”
It is to be mentioned that the #LetsSaveDeeporBeel campaign by Inside Northeast is making an impact and people are slowly starting to take notice of our humble yet noble endeavor. Moreover, the MP has assured support towards the campaign in all possible ways.

Meanwhile, renowned environmentalist and conservationist, Mike Pandey have also stepped forward to preserve the 'Beel', which he calls the 'life source' of Guwahati city of Assam.
Rajya Sabha MP, Biswajit Daimary and GDD minister Siddhartha Bhattacharya has also stepped forward to support the campaign to save the 'Deepor Beel', the 'lung of Guwahati'.
Along with that, Oil India Limited has also joined us and extended their support for the Inside Northeast campaign #LetsSaveDeeporBeel.
