“What I can see when you stand beside the Beel right now it stinks. That is one of the most terrible feeling about it. One of the most terrible things that could happen to this Beel.”

According to Anupam Kaushik Bora wetlands are very important for human lives, nature, the culture of Assam and people.

“I am from Majuli and it is a place which is full of wetlands. I am grown up in those areas. Fortunately, not the industries being raised there. That’s why those wetlands are intact. But here in Guwahati, the industries around the place, they also need to do better waste management. They need to take the initiative to clean the Beel and start campaigning in this regard. It is the very high time our Government starts looking into it,” he added.

“I feel from my heart that people of Assam should support this movement. We need to act from our side to make this Beel beautiful,” were his concluding lines.
