Athuan Abonmai Murder: Manipur Congress to shut office for a day in solidarity to 24 hrs bandh

IMPHAL: The Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) to cancel meetings and close office tomorrow in extending solidarity to Justice for Athuan Abonmai.

MPCC Spokesperson Ningombam Bupenda Meitei said briefed at Congress Bhavan here this evening.

 

"The Congress party has joined in extending solidarity to the 24 hours bandh called from midnight of today till midnight tomorrow for Justice to (Late) Athuan Abonmai," said Bupenda Meitei in his brief.

Meitei also stated that as per the advice of AICC Senior Observer (Manipur) Jairam Ramesh, MP, and AICC in-charge (Manipur) Bhakta Charan Das, ex-MP, and MPCC state leadership, the party had decided to close the office and cancel all the official meetings which were scheduled to be held in the said duration for the upcoming elections in the state.

The brief was attended by Adv. L. Chandrakumar, Chairman, Vicchar Vibhag and MPCC Media Panelist P. Bankimchandra Meitei.
