The 24-hour state-wide bandh called by the Manipur’s Joint Action Committee (JAC) formed against the mysterious death of Babysana has affected the normal life by shutting down the Thangmeiband area in Imphal on Wednesday.
The bandh was called from 6 am on July 24 to 6 am on July 25. However, normalcy has been reported in the region.
Babysana was mysteriously found dead at her hostel room of Standard Robarth School, Canchipur.

The JAC has also warned to intensify the protest by launching a ‘Jail Changsi’ movement if the government fails to deliver justice at the earliest.
Khwairambandh Keithel, Paona Keithel, Thangal Keithel and most of the business establishments, educational institutions, banks, and private offices remained closed. All the areas of Thangmeiband bore a deserted look.
The bandh supporters moved to the streets and blocked the roadways prohibiting all sorts of vehicular movement.
The protestors burnt the effigy of Principal of Standard Robarth Higher Secondary School, Canchipur, Pheiroijam Landoni.
