Guwahati: Bharatiya Janata Party's National President JP Nadda has reached Manipur to chalk out plans for the party in the upcoming state assembly polls due next year.

On Thursday late evening, Nadda arrived at Imphal along with Union Minister and election in-charge of Manipur Bhupendra Yadav and Union MoS Pratima Bhowmik for a two-day visit to the state.

Meanwhile, BJP's national general secretary (organization) BL Santosh who is already in Imphal on Wednesday is going to join the BJP

booth-level and other poll-related meetings.

Nadda will be meeting sports personalities and ex-servicemen in Imphal.

It may be mentioned that Union Home Minister Amit Shah had earlier said that the BJP will retain power in Manipur in the 2022 Assembly polls.

He claimed that after the BJP came in power, the frequent blockade, shut down and other disturbances have been stopped and a new mission for development began.

It may be noted elections to the 60-seat Manipur Assembly are likely to be held in February-March next year, along with Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, and Goa.
