Drugs worth Rs 92.4 lakh seized in Manipur

Guwahati, January 12, 2019:

A team of the Tengnoupal Battalion seized a large quantity of drugs from Khudengthabi in Manipur worth Rs 92.4 lakh. The narcotics items were concealed under the baggage of a vehicle in which three individuals (two male and one female) were travelling from Moreh to Imphal.

They were found carrying 324 grams of brown sugar worth Rs 32.4 lakh and 300 grams of heroin worth Rs 60 lakh and when questioned, the lady cracked under pressure and admitted to smuggling illegal drugs.

The apprehended individuals have been handed over to Narcotics and Affairs of Borders (NAB), Imphal, for illegal smuggling of drugs.
